HI!

A new way to run your Live Drum Sound!
Hello fellow drummers, I just joined the community and thought you might like to follow along in my quest to patent an invention which will be useful in live music and recording sessions, able to be used by any band for running your amplified drum sound through the sound system! The following is my first entry to my journal....

May 1st, 2006 --

I built a prototype of my invention and used it at the May 1st gig. This thing works like a dream! All the guys are very impressed with the idea and it did the job! It TOTALLY eliminated the common problems associated with running the drums through the PA system!

I am considering applying for a patent on the invention because I have never seen anything quite like this anywhere before. I've heard the patenting process will cost a good sum of money, but I really believe this is marketable. If the invention works as good for everyone else as it does for us, then I think lots of drummers and sound guys will want this thing. I may need to find some funding for the project. In the meantime, I think I will look into doing a patent search for this type of invention.

I also do concert and stage setup work with the I.A.T.S.E. - Local #42 Stagehands Union in Omaha Nebraska. We work all the shows at Qwest Center, Civic Auditorium, The Orpheum Theater and Holland Centers, in Omaha Nebraska and Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In all the concerts I have helped move in and out, I have never seen any National Acts use anything that is like my invention. I notice that most bands use the so-called "Old School" method to this day. If my invention is successful, it would be totally cool to see a band or two pass through that is using it for their own show! That is my goal and I'm moving forward to try and make the idea a reality!

Feel free to contact me or add my journal to your friends page. I'll chronicle the events leading up to the present over the course of this week and continue from there with frequent updates. Wondering what my invention is??? Well, for now, lets just say that it will change your outlook on running live drum sound through a pa system and eliminate a lot of common problems associated with doing so. We will just call it "The Invention" for the time being. The secret will be revealed as soon as I can legally disclose the item and be protected by my patent application!

I hope to hear from some of you soon! Thanks for allowing me to join y'all!

Drummer Needed
Eternal Embrace, an established New Hampshire based Doom Metal band seeks a drummer to replace our drummer who is terminally ill. We have a pretty unique style, some of our influences include Agalloch, My Dying Bride, Katatonia, Unholy, Green Carnation, In The Woods, Dimmu Borgir, Anathema and The Gathering. We have keyboards, guitar, bass and male harsh and clean vocals and female vocals. We are looking for someone creative on the drums, who can play double bass and also be able to groove at slower time signatures. We had our debut show in Boston at the Skybar in June and would be looking to play live again. We have recorded a demo in hopes of getting signed to a label. We are looking for someone as dedicated as we are to playing music. A knowledge of doom, death and black metal is ideal, though not necessarily paramount, if you can learn skills quickly and have an interest in performing in a band that also derives it's creative influences from many genres including tribal, electronica, goth, Indian music, Middle Eastern music and other international flair, then please contact us at eternal_embrace2004@yahoo.com. Only serious applicants need apply.
